ATHLETE OF THE MONTH

June 2025 – Tracy Torres

Tell us about yourself:
Hi, I’m Tracy from Port Hueneme. I’m a proud mom of two—ages 17 and 18—and now that they’re a bit older, I’ve found more time to focus on something I’ve truly fallen in love with: CrossFit. I’m passionate about pushing myself both physically and mentally, and I’m always looking for ways to grow. Outside the gym, I love spending time with my family and staying active in any way I can. I’m excited to be part of a team that values hard work, progress, and community.

What do you do for a job?
Production Specialist for Leather Company

Tell us something people might not know about you:
I’m a Twin

What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?
What brought me to CrossFit was the learning aspect. I love that it’s not just about working out—it’s about being coached, learning proper form, and building strength and skill step by step. Having a trainer guide you through the process makes it both challenging and empowering, and that’s what really hooked me.

What was your first impression? How has that changed?
Honestly, CrossFit felt intimidating at first—but what drew me in was the learning aspect. After the first couple of months, it became something I truly enjoy, and the support from the community has been amazing.

What was your first “bright spot” ?
Everything felt impossible and now I’m able to see all of the small improvements which really adds up.

What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on my form.

What’s your favorite BeachSide Crossfit memory?
My best memory is how thoughtful and patient Coach Jess. She took the time to help me feel comfortable, explain things clearly, and made me feel supported every step of the way. That really stuck with me and made a huge difference in my experience.
