Erik has been an inspiration in our CrossFit Kids classes. Always supportive with a great hard-working attitude, he has made huge advancements in skill and fitness here at BeachSide! We are so happy to see Erik’s smiling face each and every time he walks in the door. Keep up the great work, Erik!

Tell us about yourself: My name is Erik and I am 7 years old. I just finished 2nd grade at the Pierpont Elementary school in Ventura, CA. I am born in Wolfsburg, Germany and I’m here for three years because of family matters.

What is your favorite subject in school? Why? My favorite subject in school is reading because you can learn a lot about things and you can read about long and short adventures.

Tell us something people might not know about you: You may not know about me that I like going in the water, listening to audiobooks almost all the day and I am really interested in fossils from dinosaurs.

What brought you to CrossFit in the first place? My school sent out a paper with all kinds of activities around the Ventura area. I picked CrossFit and I still love it.

What was your first impression? How has that changed? When I looked into the gym I thought it would be a lot of fun and really nothing has changed to it.

What skill are you working on right now? I am working on Burpees right now. I have to practice Sit-ups as well but I don’t like to do them so much.

What’s your favorite “Beachside CrossFit Kids memory?” My favorite memory regarding BSCF was after a really long time of Zoom classes I could finally go into the gym again 🙂

Lilly has a bright and always positive personality! She works very hard and is consistently improving her skills in CrossFit. Especially during the at-home quarantine, she has been setting goals and crushing our workouts every day. She is an inspiration to watch – keep up the hard work Lilly!!

Tell us about yourself: I’m 12 years old I’m in 6th grade and I have one sibling, my brother Christian

What is your favorite subject in school? Why? My favorite subject is art because all my friends are in the class and that class has a great teacher and I enjoy being creative

Tell us something people might not know about you: Something that maybe people don’t know is that outside of gym I love music. I sing and play the ukulele as well

What brought you to CrossFit in the first place? What brought me to CrossFit is my best friend grace. I had just quit gymnastics and was looking for a sport when grace invited me to bring a friend day. I went and found out CrossFit was the sport for me

What was your first impression? How has that changed? My first impression was just lifting weights and that’s it. My impression had changed my helping me understand that CrossFit is much more than that. It is a combination of many things and helps me push myself

What skill are you working on right now? I am working on my double Unders. I am trying to keep constant with them by trying to do over 20 in a row

What’s your favorite “Beachside CrossFit Kids memory?” My favorite memory was probably my first beachside beat down when I first joined. It was fun to show everyone our skills

Eden is an incredible athlete in our BeachSide Kids & Teens program! Watch out for this one, she has already placed in a worldwide kids competition at a young age, and she is hungry for more. Keep pushing Eden, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!

Tell us about yourself:
I am 11 and in 6th grade. I have a brother, Noah, who also does Crossfit Teens

What is your favorite subject in school? Why?
My favorite subject is science because I am studying the solar system in my class this semester.

Tell us something people might not know about you:
I am a member of a local dance company, Rivers Dance Arts in Ventura.

What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?
I used to compete in gymnastics and got injured. I wanted to keep up my strength and some of my mom’s friends recommended BeachSide Crossfit.

What was your first impression? How has that changed?
My first impression was that Crossfit was a lot of fun but now I enjoy working towards more challenging skills and higher maxes. I like to set goals for myself.

What skill are you working on right now?
I am working on many different things including strict pull-ups, improving my maxes, and snatches and cleans

What’s your favorite “Beachside CrossFit memory?
My favorite memory was when I won 3rd place at the last Future Fittest Contest.

Finn has advanced through our kids program showing great improvement in just 4 short months. Most recently he participated in our Olympic Weightlifting Camp for kids and teens where he impressed all of his coaches with good form and attention to detail. Finn is always a pleasure to have in class and we are excited to watch him grow as an athlete!

Tell us about yourself: I’m 12 years old, in the seventh grade, and have 2 younger brothers

What is your favorite subject in school? Why? My favorite subject is science because I like knowing how things work.

Tell us something people might not know about you: I like to play board games.

What brought you to CrossFit in the first place? I came to CrossFit because I needed a PE class/sport.

What was your first impression? How has that changed? My first thought was fun. It’s still a lot of fun.

What skill are you working on right now? I’m working on snatches right now.

What’s your favorite “Beachside CrossFit Kids memory?” My favorite memory is meeting new people.

I am 13 years old, in 8th grade, and I have an 11 year old brother and a 7 year old sister

What is your favorite subject in school?

My favorite subject is Language Arts because I absolutely love reading! I just finished Les Miserables

Tell us something people may not know about you

People might not know that I had 3 surgeries in a 2 year time period 🙁

What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?

I was invited to join by my friends on Bring a Friend Day!

What was your first impression? How has that changed?

My first impression was that CrossFit was fun as I loved all the fun games. Now that I’m in the teens class my focus is on working hard, doing my best, and getting stronger.

What are you working on now?

I’m trying to over get better at the weight training movements (squats, cleans, snatches)

What’s your favorite “BeachSide CrossFit memory?

My favorite Beachside memory was coming on a Friday night to do an open workout and having a party at the gym afterwards

Jackson Barnett has been a devoted kids member for exactly one year!! He has improved his skill and enthusiasm greatly starting out by coming only once or twice a week, and now we see him almost every day. He is a delight in class, with his quick wit and helping hand to everyone in CrossFit Kids. Keep up the excellent work, Jackson!

Tell us about yourself. I’m 12 years old in 7th grade. I have 3 sisters- CC, Elexa, and Aubrie.

What is your favorite subject in school? Science because I get to watch “Dr. Stone”

Tell us something people might not know about you. I’ve driven through almost 15 states

What brought you to CrossFit in the first place? My mom and dad

What was your first impression?  I didn’t want to come back and now I don’t want to leave.

What skill are you working on right now? I’m working on having more stamina.
