Next Level Invitational was held on sat, if you have been following, you know Myself, jay and Ginger were representing BeachSide……………..
The Competition was comprised of 3 WODS all thrown down withing a 6 hour slot…the Wods were:

200 meter sand bag run 70#

20″ step ups with bag

1000 meter run (500 for int. F)
WOD#2
4 mins to find max Overhead Squat
4 min rest
4 min Max Squat cleans @ 95#/65#/45#
and thats that, Ginger was first up with WOD 1 and destroyed her heat coming in 3rd! Thats representing for sure, and as I would later find out, that last run was NO joke, For those that have never tried, take a big metal canon ball with a handle from the floor, to your shoulder and overhead..thats KB clean and Jerk….Jay came up after and flew through the first half,
his goat came up, that damn run…but still finished strong..I followed up with the Floater nothing like sand bags to make for a fun 200 meter run……6:25 put me top 10….that puts the day at about 10am 12:30 was my time again for WOD #1, ended up beign quite the battle with a dude named Matt from Orange Coast CrossFit and that last 1000 meter ended up being a “please let this thing end” WOD…I got out the gate first, Matt passed me right out and that was the story , me trying to chase him down, and good ol boy never slowed down and we ended that bastard of WOD with a mad sprint, he got me by seconds..nice one!
Jay was up again with WOD#2 and boy threw a 10# PR putting 200# over his head and squatting down with that monster and raising back up like a champ! SIK DUDE!
A few 40 reps later and (second part) and the WOD was History, Ginger followed that with setting a PR for herself..100# Sikness!
with some down time Ginger was at it again, with the Floater starting a run with a damn smile on the face.Classic:)
Jay threw it down loving those steps ups.
We mention the nose has to touch the ground on the push ups???
haha…not a fun way to end the day….WOD 2# was the last WOD done, i got a PR as well getting 235# on the OHS
and the 4 mins max squat cleans proved to really burn my damn legs…..duh. All said and done:
Ginger 51st out of 76 int Females
Jay 40th out of 105 int males
Nathan 14th out of 71 Advanced Males
Besides the WODS, sweat and cursing, competetions do more the exercise the body and put that training to the test with a little “how you stack up” what it does accomplish is good times, smiles, and positivity we chilled out got to meet new peeps and get involved in the CrossFit community, not to mention the great show of support from those who able to make it,the Nguyens and the Palmas a long drive and they brought citrus! thats friendship and much , much appreciated. Partnered up with the crew from CrossFit Fast , for those who do not know, Myself and the Tromellos (FAST coaches) have a very friendly never ending game of competetion with one another and its always good times to compete with those two. As well as the rest of the FAST crew who came out, threw down and chipped in to the good times. So next comp, come out, support and have good times, this is what it comes down to…..
