You could just follow our blog, but you would not get the quality of teaching from our certified trainers. Most people are not taught how to move correctly and don’t know how to teach themselves. You are automatically making yourself more susceptible to injury and leveling off in your gains by trying to do this on your own. It is also infinitely more fun when you are encouraged and held accountable by a group of your peers. Plus you won’t have someone cheering you on in your basement or local gym, like you have at BeachSide Crossfit.
CrossFit is as hard as you make it. We encourage people to push to the limits of their own tolerances but only you can make the most out of your own workouts with the amount of work you put into them.

All Crossfit gyms are individually owned and operated, and is Not a franchise. Basicly, all gyms "do their own thing". Our affiliation to Crossfit is based on our passion for quality training and programming; love of functional movements done at high intensity; and much admiration and respect for the founders, Greg and Lauren Glassman, who brought their vast knowledge to the masses.
What does this mean to you?
You should check out the facilities, the coaches, and the classes. Some gyms may omit olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, or some other "common" modality. Some programs are based on bodyweight only. The experience and skill level (not the same thing) of coaches and trainers also vary. What do you get with your membership? Are there workshops or community events? Are you just paying for someone to tell you what to do (definitely NOT the same as someone showing you what and how; and getting you to understand why). Is there real coaching going on? Are you learning new skills and moving forward?
So again, we are all similar, but can be vastly different. Choose what fits you best and your goals. No matter what, I am glad you found Crossfit. Done correctly, it is the BEST strength and conditioning programming around, AND it will get you to your BEST fitness. We can guaranteeit in our gym.
You can injure yourself in any activity, but CrossFit is more safe than many activities people perform every day. We like to work with people in 3 stages. First: mechanics (learning how to do the movements with correct technique), Second: Consistency (the ability to do the movements over and over again with safe and relatively efficient technique), Third: Intensity (the speed at which you do the movements). One does not come before the other. We always start with Mechanics.

This is a common misconception. The most elite athlete can come into the gym and find a workout challenging. You will never be “fit” enough. That’s why we are here and offer scaling options for each individual so that you can thrive in each workout on a personal level. Fitness is a lifelong journey, we are never really “there”.
You can expect powerlifting (squat, deadlift, press, ), Olympic lifting(Snatch, Clean and Jerk), kettlebell training, plyometrics,throwing, sand bag training, do basic gymnastics work, run, row, jump rope, sprint, run, interval training, its a mixed bag, but ALL essential and ALL used to exploit your potential and increase your fitness 10 fold.
Absolutely!! CrossFit methodology is, by design, completely scalable. What that means is that a workout can be modified so that you can complete it. Intensity is relative to the individual performing the task. Ultimately what it comes down to, is your willingness to commit.
The Elements class is a course designed to ramp the intensity while teaching you the foundational fundamental movements we will utilize. It’s paramount that you have proper form prior to being introduced to our WOD’s. The WOD’s are dynamite and we take them seriously. It’s our responsibly to get you in a class in the most effective and efficient way possible in order to help you achieve your goals. There is a method to the madness and it starts with the Elements class!!

We don’t pretend to be easy; our workouts are hard and smart, not long and longer…. What we can guarantee is, if you commit and come to the gym, ready to give 100% you will feel and see results quicker than you ever have before.
Our rates are actually less expensive than any other group led workout programs in our local area. The reality is with the quality of instruction you get from our trainers, it is personal training at a fraction of the cost.
